VABCI Working Groups

The Initiative is organized into a VABCI Committee and three working groups. The VABCI committee was formed to guide the development of the Initiative. It consists of the VABCI Coordinator and the chairs of the three working groups. The working groups are the basic unit of organization for the delivery of bird conservation through VABCI. They serve to exchange information among partners and identify and implement conservation strategies and actions. The groups are organized along Virginia's physiographic regions, and include the Coastal Plain, the Piedmont and the Ridge and Valley groups. Each group is comprised of a chair, the VABCI coordinator, and an array of partners in the region. Different partners may be represented at different group meetings depending on the specific products that are being developed or the issues that are being addressed. See the Projects section for more information on working group activities and accomplishments.
